Only 2 more days to Thanksgiving, and then Christmas will come and then New Years Eve. This means that all of our models need to go shopping for new holiday dresses! What stores have the best dresses for the cheapest prices? Pink Avenue Models has shopped around and here are 10 stores that will have the best holiday dresses this season.  Enjoy your shopping adventure!

1. Forever 21! This store has the biggest selection and very affordable prices.

2. Charlotte Russe! This store is very affordable and has locations everywhere.

3. Delias! This store has a younger look to it but has adorable dresses for less than $50.

4. GoJane.com! This website is amazing! Really affordable and super trendy. You can get a dress for less than $20!

5. Wet Seal! Another popular store with locations everywhere.

6. Urban Outfitters! This is a store for a more alternative look. Still cute, classy and sexy!

7. Macy’s! Macy’s has a huge selection and you can always find something on sale.

8. Target! Who doesn’t love target? There are so many great designs at this store. You can easily find a dress for $25.

It’s almost December which means Winter is coming very soon. There are going to be a ton of promotions coming up this month, and a lot will be outside. Are you prepared to stand in the cold weather for hours at a time? Here are a few items that all promotional models should have to help keep you warm while working these outdoor events.

1. Gloves. Make sure they are warm but not to bulky. Models need to be able to pass things out easily.

2. Hat/earmuffs. Make sure you keep your ears warm. Get something in black that matches everything.

3. Scarf. This will keep your neck warm and cover some of your face if needed.

4. Hand warmers. These things are amazing and can be put in your gloves, boots, or anywhere else needed. You can find them anywhere, they cost about $1.

5. Boots. Get something that is cute but will keep your feet warm at the same time.

6. Winter jacket. Pea coats are cute but not very warm. Get a thick jacket that is a little longer, make sure it is fitted and cute.

7. Leggings/tights. These are amazing and can be worn under anything.

Chicago and New York are known to have extremely cold weather but the promotions must go on. Make sure you come dressed as warm as possible and ready to work.

Last night was the season finale of America’s Next Top Model, the petite season. The episode started out with only 2 models remaining, Nicole and Laura. From the beginning Pink Avenue Models expected Nicole to win and she did!  Nicole has won the cover of Seventeen Magazine, a Cover Girl contract, and a contract with one of the largest modeling agencies in the world. Look for Nicole in upcoming ads, events, and possibly on the runway. This is our last ANTM blog…. until next season!

Are you interested in working in the promotional modeling industry? I have to say it is a fun industry to work in but very competitive. There are so many different jobs in this industry, you can work trade shows, events, liquor promotions, street teams and so much more.  Before getting in this industry you should have professional pictures to send along with a resume. You will also need a few items in your closet, you may already have some. Here is a list of items every promotional model should own.

* Black pants. Make sure they are fitted and professional looking. Do not buy black jeans!

* Black skirt. Not too short, not to long. The best length is mid thigh.

* Black heels. Make sure they are closed toe. This is required for a lot of in tore demos.

* Black knee high boots. These are usually required when working liquor promotions.

* Gym shoes. These are nice to have and usually worn during street team promotions.

* Khaki pants/shorts. Khakis are required usually in the summer for outdoor promotions but can be asked for year round.

* Umbrella. There are promotions that are rain or shine so make sure you have an umbrella.

* Nude bra/underwear. There are some uniforms that are very sheer and that is when these items will be required.

* Conservative/professional clothing. Most trade shows will request the trade show models to dress professional but sexy. Have a few items in your closet in case the client requests this look.

It sounds like a lot of stuff but you never know what the client will request.

Trends come in and out of style so fast. Models are always changing their style of clothes, hair and make up.  What looks will always be trendy and in style forever?

* Wavy hair. Messy hair always looks good. Models can dress up or down and still pull off this look.

* Thick long eyelashes. This is very important for models. Get a great mascara to pull off this look. No need for extensions.

* The natural look. Models that don’t have a lot of time can still pull off a great look. Natural make up and natural hair always looks great.

* Pale pink nail polish. Colors change every season, Pale pink looks good on everyone and with every outfit.

* Bronze, sun kissed skin. No need to go tanning or be in the sun. Bronzer works wonders!

* Ponytails. This is a classic and innocent look, and it only takes a few minutes to do.

* Red lips. This isn’t an every day look but is great for holiday parties or a night on the town.

Models can wear these looks at trade shows, events, promotions,  parties or girls night out. These looks are classic, easy to do and look great!

I had the chance to visit the Fabtech & AWS show today and I have to say it was amazing! The models working the booths did such a great job and really played the role of a fabricator. If you get the chance to visit this show make sure you stop at booth #13097. You can get signed posters and even have your picture taken with the Oceanettes! Keep it up girls, only 2 more days! Pictures coming soon.

The PLMA was also going on today in Rosemont. Sandra and Chrissy did a great job working for a sea food company. This is always a fun show to attend. If you are visiting this trade show make sure you stop at booth # 3622 and say hi to the models and get a sample of fish.

November has been a really busy month for Pink Avenue Models and we have really enjoyed it. We are looking forward to a busy winter!
